A recent study conducted by the United States Department of Labor showed that paralegal profession is one of the fastest growing occupations in the nation. Between now and the year 2008, the market for paralegals is expected to grow 62%. Indeed, there is an increasing rate of paralegal job demands.
Demands for paralegals are projected to grow much faster than average through 2014. Private law firms employ 7 out of 10 paralegals, while the remainder worked for corporate legal departments and various levels of government. The United States Department of Justice is the largest employer for paralegals within the Federal Government, followed by the Social Security Administration and the United States Department of the Treasury.
The demand for paralegals is constantly increasing, and clearly statistics of paralegal job demands.
Private law firms will continue to be the largest employers of paralegals, but there is also a developing range of paralegal job demand in other organizations such as corporate legal departments; insurance companies, real state firms and banks also hire paralegals. The goals of these organizations to remain competitive and serve more clients have created an exceptional growth of the paralegal job demand.
Since there is an increasing population which requires legal services, especially in areas such as intellectual property, the paralegal job demand is also expected to grow as, health care, criminal law, environmental law, international law, and elder issues now requires legal works.
Paralegal job demand is also expanding in the public sector. Community legal service programs, which provide assistance to the poor, elderly, minorities, and middle income families, will employ additional paralegals to minimize expenses and further serve better the people.
Moreover, federal state and local government agencies, consumer organizations and the judiciary courts have continued interest in employing paralegals.
Nonetheless, despite projections of rapid growth of paralegal job demand, there is still a fiery competition for the paralegal positions as many people go into the paralegal field. Paralegals with experiences have the best opportunities in this field.
But one must bear in mind that although there is an increased paralegal job demand, a person could not just enter the paralegal profession without obtaining first the requirements to be qualified. Only by this way, can he achieve the desired paralegal position that he is applying for. It is recommended that the paralegal undergo all the training programs and educational background so that he is well equipped in his job, assuring him of a secured and steady position in his place of work..
